Stop Loss--- New Army Word

My son at Ft. McCoy called today to report that the Army has this new word.. "Stop Loss"

It means as follows:

The Army is telling soldiers returning from Irag and Afghanistan they will not be allowed to retire or otherwise leave the service for 90 days after they return.. It is called by the Army .. Stop-Loss.

My son just promoted to Major rank in 2000, has five years for 20 yrs. in.
