Doc. 2/47
The "LAST POST" column states that you made a post on this thread at 9:19 AM this morning, but I'll be damned if I can see it on here. This has been happening to several of Doc Fred's posts on this thread, also. It must be a TN or medic thing . Is anyone else experiencing this on this thread ?

Same here, Wayne. For better or worse, going to the Wall is like having a reunion with old friends.

"VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL TO CLOSE" (only to replace lighting, starting this coming Memoprial day, in halves)... I'm wanting to get there beforehand. |

From the NEW YORKER magazine, 3.1.2004, page 35:
"It is hard enough to put up a twin-towered building in New York without its having to bear the name of a legendary disaster, given the resemblance of each of the towers (i.e. Time Warner Center) - smooth, polished sliced monoliths - with the VIETNAM MEMORIAL IN WASHINGTON, there must surely have been moments when the developers wanted to turn the building on its side and bury it horizontally in the earth, dark and low, with sombre inscriptions of the names of all the employees who lost their nest eggs in the merger (with AOL)." |

I am getting concerned... as an art curator, about where in DC will the Afghanistan/Iraq War memorial be built... might just as well get started in the selection process now. Not that doing so will prevent discord.... but we're gonna need one out there, sooner or later.
I guess the only question today is, "How much territory shall we require?" The answer to THAT question has yet to be answered. |
