Talking Seige, Attack

My little garden has been under constant attack the last few days. Using both vertical attacks and flanking tatics the 407th Japaneese Beetle Battalion has launched numerous attacks on the garden. Although greatly outnumbered my daughter and I have kept them out side the wire but I can hear them assembling for renewed attacks. Last night they sent in a envoy to ask for our unconditional surrender but we just told them " NUTS" We have dug a fine foxhole complete with gernade pit in case the little suckers try to lob some in on us. We intend to fight it out on this line if it takes all summer. Death to the 407th !

Default My garden:

I have no idea what the bug is:

Attacking the squash, and cucumbers. Cucumbers are all gone. The squashes are retreating. Finally went to chemical warfare. Bug - be - gone by dupont. I hate being unethical and resorting to chemical warfare but those little buggers won't retreat when they had the chance.

Default I don't have a problem this year.

With bugs......just weeds. I put bird feeders all around my beans, tomatoes, jalapino peppers, etc. and have attracted lots of birds who eat the seeds and eat the bugs. What seed that falls is usually eaten by doves or chipmunks but a few will germinate so I have to keep pulling sunflower sprouts. At least I don't have to worry about eating insecticide with my BLT.

Wink

It appears the 407th Japaneese Beetle Battalion is bringing in barges of new troops during the night. They have also been reinforced with elite sapper mites which over ran the Squash listening post last night in a fierce hand to hand battle. The cucumbers are no longer an effective fighting force and have just about run out of ammo, their commander vows to make boyonet charge at 3pm, over a mile of open ground against the well entrenched 407th. I am calling in Sevin danger close now . Death to the 407th !!

Call a napalm strike in on the little boogers.......................wait a minute, that might not be good for a garden. Nevermind.

Default To h**l with ecology. Time for chemical warfare.

I got nailed by a brown recluse spider from the garden that got down my shirt. Hurts like a burn and looks like one too. Time to kill all the little boogers with a massive chemical attack! I think I'll do the lawn too...to kill all the fleas that my cat brings in. I can always give my tomatoes away to people I don't like. LOL

Default Col. Murphy

Sir,

I try to grow totally chemical free. I usually don't have problems but this year is an exception. Haven't used chemicals on my tomatoes or corn.

Have they cored out the brown recluse bite yet? It heals faster if they do. Leaves a scare about the size of a quarter to half dollar in size. Now you can tell the grand kids about the time you got hit with a 50 Caliber Machine Gun .

Default Keith

I have used 2 kinds of bug killer so far and something is still eating my marigolds. My onions were completely destroyed. Several beans were munched to the ground and others are tall green and beautiful

I got a huge number of boxelder bugs and killed most of them but I'm not sure if they ate everything.

No aphids on the roses or bugs on the tomatoes at all. I'm just confused.

Joy
