Get out if you want Sharia law, Australia tells Muslims.... Yea, Australia......

CANBERRA: Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after, a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, as he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a severe crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some of the radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, and if you want a country which has Sharia law, or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you" he said on national television. "I'd be saying to those clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia (one Australian and one Islamic), that this is false and unacceptable to the rest of us on this beloved land of ours.

Our position here, in this country, is very clear: "We have one, and only one Law, and it is the Australian Law, none other"...

If you can't agree with our parliamentary laws, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law, then you have the opportunity to go to another country which practices it. Perhaps, then, that might be a better option for you" Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could very well be asked move to another country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "Clear off our Land"

"Basically, this means that people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want to live by our Australian values, and understand them, must "Clear Off," he bluntly said.

Separately, Prime Minister Howard angered some Australian Muslim leaders on Wednesday by saying he strongly supported spies monitoring the nation's mosques and any other agencies whose activities are contrary to Australian Laws and Values. Basically, saying: "If you don't like it, get the hell out of here, this land is not for you". As simple as that...!!!

This will never happen in this country. There's not ONE; 1; UNO; politician in the country that has the BALLS to even suggest this, let alone enforce it. Hell, they don't even have the CAJONES to address the problem of our porous borders, attempt to remove the millions of illegal immigrants that resides here, or stand up to Presidente Fox.

You are correct!
We would have mega lawsuits brought on by the ACLU and every other minority/ethnic group around.
In twenty years when much blood has been shed on American soil, we'll get a law like this. Probably a constitutional amendment to prevent lawsuits.
I don't mind the ACLU protecting legitimate civil rights but they are promoting anarchy and not liberty.

What Australia is doing is absolutely necessary to protect the majority.
