The old gallbladder surgery before they invented laparoscopy was a big deal. That is what he had. Hang in there Tom.

Hey y'all just an update. Tom is on day 2 and the medicine used during surgery to help ease the pain has worn off. I spent the night at the hospital and Tom had a very restless night. He would fall asleep and not be able to "self medicate" then wake up because he was in pain. I just spoke to him and he was sitting in a chair watching a DVD. He is supposed to be out of ICU sometime this evening. He said thanks for all the birthday greetings and thoughts and prayers.

The doctor came in last night and apparently during surgery he nicked his finger. Now Tom and the doctor have to be tested for Hepititas and HIV and a social worker has to come in and talk to Tom.

I reminded Tom that he is a paratrooper and in time the pain will pass. He can't see that far ahead yet.

Packo - As soon as he's up and around he'll come and take care of those "2 snowflakes".
