Description:
(USA) Bryan K. Grigsby, originally from Gainesville, Florida served in the U.S. Army from 1967 until 1970. Bryan served with the Department of the Army Special Photographic Office (DASPO) and was based out of Ft. Schafter, Hawaii. As a DASPO Still Photographer and Sound Specialist, he went TDY to Asia on five occasions: once to Thailand (1968), twice to South Korea (1967 and 1968), and twice to South Vietnam (February-May 1968 and June-August 1969). In May 1968, in South Vietnam, Bryan was awarded the Silver Star for his actions while shooting combat during post-Tet Offensive action. Interview conducted by Richard B. Verrone, Ph.D.

(USA) Don Halsey enlisted in the United States Army in April 1970 and spent the next year in Vietnam. He served in counter intelligence and participated in the Phoenix Program, a program intent on eliminating the Viet Cong political apparatus. Halsey describes the general living conditions, his duties, Vietnamese intelligence, his observations on both Australian and South Vietnamese soldiers, the drug problem, medical facilities, landmines, and race relations. He also discusses the problems with snakes, R&R and his relations with the South Vietnamese people. Finally, Halsey examines the effects of the anti-war movement on the soldier's morale and the adjustment of returning home after the conflict. Interview conducted by Edwin Whiting.

Description:
(USAF) Richard E. Hamilton, originally from Portland, Oregon served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 until 1959 and from 1962 until 1988. He also served in the California Air National Guard from 1959 until 1962. Dick first went to Southeast Asia in 1965 TDY from MacDill AFB with the 47th Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS) and was stationed at Ubon RTAB. There he served as the Squadron Scheduling Officer, Assistant Flight Commander, and flew missions in the F-4C over Laos and North and South Vietnam, taking part in Operations BARREL ROLL and ROLLING THUNDER. Dick went back to Southeast Asia in 1970 with the 389th TFS and was stationed at Phu Cat AB, RVN. There he served as Flight Commander and Wing Weapons Officer and flew missions in the F-4D over North and South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Interview conducted by Richard B. Verrone, Ph.D.
