Actually, the French started the Vietnam war. Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon continued it.

Too bad Cheney's Haliburton can't profit from the Iraq war...

and Thai were the majority in the south, and the Chinese were in the north.
There were many struggles prior to the 1700's before the French took over
