Today I read that the DOD is dropping imminent danger pay for Bosnia but, our guys are still being shot at. Bosnia isn't England or Germany so I wonder why the bean counters are cutting imminent danger pay there and around 6 other areas when our fellow brothers in arms are still assigned to hostile regions of the world? Bill Clinton Sent them there back in the 90s and their still there but you don't hear Congresswoman Pelosi or ole Murtha wanting them brought home

To All,

OK, so you think I'm a gutless coward. Fine. You're entitled to your opinions, as warped as I think they are. Nobody asked us to save Iraq from their reigning tyrant but Georgie sent our people in anyway, and all he's accomplished is having over 3000 Americans killed and tens of thousands wounded to "save" an indifferent people who can't and won't get along with each other and continute to slaughter each other with impunity.

And Paco, are you actually saying those men and women feel safer in Iraq than they do driving America's highways?! Why don't you ask any one of them where they rather be. I'm pretty sure they won't say "Oh, gosh! I feel so much better about being in Baghdad and facing snipers and roadside bombs planted by someone who doesn't give a good Goddamn about who he kills than being behind the wheel of my Chevy going to my job or visting Mom!"

I could say more but I've decided I've said enough. None of you are going to change my mind on this.

Doc, not trying to change your mind on anything, and I didn't read anyone saying your a "gutless coward", and if someone said that, it's inappropriate. I can't imagine anyone that served their country being a "gutless coward". Now a draft dodger, that's a gutless coward. I'm just responding to what you wrote. Actually, you'd be very surprised to find out that my 03's would rather be back in Iraq then working the rifle range at PI. Doc, just look at the statistics on death and wounds in Iraq in 4 years, and death and injury from automobile accidents in the US in a 4 year period. I'm not saying anything but the statistics are. You can break it down by age group. I'm just talking about auto accidents. This doesn't even take into consideration things like murder, suicide, and other accidental deaths. Your's and my chances of getting killed or injured in a car accident are way higher then a GI getting killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. The UN and the Congress passed a mandate for this war. Since I only made E-5, it's very hard for me to know if it's been run exactly right or terribly wrong. I haven't ever heard of a war we've been in that went perfect where all plans worked. I can assure you that in Vietnam, when the bullets started flying, most plans went out the window. I suspect that in this war a lot of things were done right and a lot of things wrong. I just not willing to allow these men and women to come home "losers" like we were because America's lost it's will to win.

Default Paco,...

Totally understand your frustration, since once was an E-5 myself.
Still, that: "America's lost its will to win",...wasn't just A Vietnam or current Terrorism thing. For America's political leaders or Civilian Warlords and/or warfare micro-managers IN EVERY DETAIL,...such has been the case FOR 60 YEARS.

"America's Finest" and/or The U.S. Military HAVE NOT BEEN PERMITTED BY POLITICIANS to achieve A Total Victory against any enemy or RESOLVE anything favorable for America,...FOR 60 YEARS.

Just need remember only one good example. Partially defeated and politically caved-into North Korea. That Bandit Nation infinitely more a threat to world and mankind,...THAN EVER WAS in 1953.

AND WHY IS THAT? Well,...don't ask little-old-me.
Ask America's glorious and all-knowing politicos, pundits and journalists(?) and The UN. I'M CERTAIN that all such have some damn-great-answers. Definitely not honest. But, certainly great.
