Congratulations!

I've got four kids, two of each brand, from age 37 on down to 26, and I'm still waiting for one of them to produce!

They had best get with the program... I'll be 59 in a about two weeks.

Default Grampa

"Grampa" is the way it was said in our family. My folks though liked to be called by their first names too, so it's been Grampa Chuck Gramma Lucy, etc. So it's likely to be Grampa Alan, though the mother, Leslie's, family traditions might have something to do with that, too. I don't care what they call me as long as they call often.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. If it's a boy, my first name will be the middle name, that's a family tradition for first-born boys and Jeff already told me that's what he intends to do. Robert would be nice, only because it was my late brother's name, but I expect mom and dad have ideas of their own and I don't tend to be an interfering grampa on things best left to them.

Smile Names given to Grandparents:

My Wife and I have one five year old Grandson with another one on the way this November. Yes we already know that it will be another boy because our Daughter-In-Law had the test done which reveals the sex of the fetus.

Our Grandson calls me "Papa" and my Wife is referred to as "Gamma". Our Grandson also calls his other Grandfather "Papa" also so I am referred to as "Papa With No Hair" because I shave my head. My Wife's Father is still alive and well at 92 years old so our Grandson calls his Great Grandfather "Great Papa".

DMZ-Lt is correct when he stated that Grandchildren really brighten up an otherwise gloomy day. I always find myself laughing, mostly to myself though, concerning the things my Grandson comes out with. Grandchildren truly are the greatest gift anyone can receive.

To all of my Vietnam Veteran Brothers and Sisters I again state:

WELCOME HOME
