Default Paid .08 Cents a gallon

During a gas war in Oklahoma City in 1963, I remember it costing just over a dollar to fill the tank of my 1956 plymouth.

Default Did you have have this...

in the early 1960s in Memphis, TN., we had a Pure gas station and I believe a Gulf station, that gave away old silver dollars ( from the 1880s and 1921 ) for a fillup. Considering that gas was probably 35+ cents or so a gallon, this seems kind of odd now. I still have 3 of these old dollars...

As I recall, gas prices got near $ 1 around 1978 - 79 or so. Considering inflation since then, the price now is fairly reasonable....

Angry GAS

in San Francisco is highest in the country, well over $2.00 for regular. Good thing I live across the Bay . Filled up at my favorite station, an ARCO, yesterday for $1.85 for regular. The nearest station in my neighborhood, also an ARCO, is at $1.97.

LEG: Glad to see that you made it over here from the War Board over at the History Channel. Always enjoy your posts. You'll find a good bunch of people here. Looking forward to seeing more of you here, Sir.

Thumbs down gas

87 proof $1.68
89 proof $1.78
91 proof $1.88
93 proof $1.96
It's going up fast and I'll bet when the state budget comes out in July it will include additional tax, regardless of international affairs.

Stay healthy,
Andy

Thumbs up

$1.469 a gallon of regular at Cosco. I have read , for some reason , that Atlanta has the lowest gas prices in the states.
