I belive a governor is technically considered the CINC of his state gaude units. This would be like the presidnet being on active duty.

While I am not trying to make excuses for the guy, his position as governor probably conflicts with his duty as a gaurdsman.

Catman,

Just as I said, HE IS BALD FACED LIAR, but we chekced into it and he is in the Reserves ( army ), He is 43 now.

I just cant figure out how he comes up with all these lies just to keep his wife ( of which she dont want anything to do with him anymore).

Also the Recruitor said that he wont be sent overseas for combat, just to "maybe" Germany to fill in for those 100 % qualified for active reserve duty.

enough............

Default Gov. Sanford

Has contacted the Lt. Gov and the Legislative heads and said that he will go if called. The Lt. Gov would take over in his absence. I find nothing wrong with this. Strom Thurman, who was 82nd Airborne and at D-Day, was also Governor and a General in the reserves. Had he been called, I'm sure he would have gone. Now, if Gov. Sanford wimps out.......then he would be a one term Governor but I have a feeling he won't. Let's stop putting him down until something happens....I mean he just got sworn in a few days ago for Christ Sake. I will be the first to write him off if he copped out but until then, I think we need to let him do what the majority of S. Carolinians elected him for and stop the inane speculation.

Default Razz,

I know you will buddy! And if I believe it's wrong I'll be there with you. Just read another article in today's paper and he seems quite sincere about filling out his military obligation. I'm am sure there is a way for governors to weasel out and I'm kinda proud he hasn't. I would have been disappointed and highly pissed if he would have gone the other way.....and would call for his impeachment no matter what party he represents.

Oh my God. I?m going to a state where, on the governors mansion, there?s a sign on it saying Sanford and Son? ?I?m comin? Elizabeth, I?m havin? the big one.? Tell me that Gov. Sanford don?t own a junk yard. If he stays in the military please tell me they won?t let him near any nukes. Please.

Stay healthy,
Andy
PS: You don?t have a senator named Jefferson with a wife named Weeze do you?
