The closest I came to something like this was when my Grammy gave me my gramp's police service revolver about 15 years ago. cleaned it up and took it out to the range behind Nellis AFB outside of Vegas. A friend of mine was "real good" at making bullets and was , ahem, kind enough to make up a few for me. Now this service revolver is only a .38 Colt and normally it makes little more than a pop sound.
Well I reached into the box of bullets he packed for me and started loading the gun. Turned around and started firing at some old cans,
pop.....pop....pop.....BANG!
Seems he used a little heavier stuff and made me some real special bullets. I swear my ears were ringing for a good solid two weeks. Scared the begeebies out of me too.
