Default I have a scar

In my eye brow. And that was after growing up shooting rifles and after the army. Shooting prone while deer hunting, squeezed off the shot with my 30-06 and evidently I wasn't holding the front stock tight enough. Nice half moon scar. I was about 31 or 32 at the time. Never happened again. Did hit my target though.

Smile John,...

...

...My buddy did the same thing a few years back with a 30/30,...

...let him know about it again last week as we were hanging some blinds out in the woods, gave him the "hurry up scope-ee, your falling behind again", and as expected, recieved the traditional "Phuck you",...

...creeper, the other guy out with us was like "what's up with that?", and I started to fill in the details, but was cut short real quick, and had my own little chuckle,...

...yup, BAM, SHI+ knew right then what happened, but didn't even look his way till I heard the DAm*, and saw him holding his hand cupped over his eye, and a red trail running down his wrist,...

...and of course we patched him up with a few butterflies, and then a gauze rap that looked like a huge turban, still have a few pic's from that weekend,...

...and John, was that semi-circle from a scope, or a crown bottle, and your gymnastic skills?,...

...edit, I know Sid had something to do with it,...

Scope eye is what we call it around here. Glade to say I haven't had the pleasure.
Why would anyone put a scope on a shotgun? By the way. My dad had a 4 gage long tom, that I would give you money if you would hold it to your shoulder, let alone look at a scope when you pulled the trigger.

Ron,
The new rifled barrel slug guns are very accurate out to 120 yds. I would never do it but I know some who do.

Generally, the scope is used to see antlers in low lighting conditions. ie, just as the season opens at the point of "sunrise." I have one on my Mossberg 500.

Ron,

A 4 guage?! In the 18th century it would've been called a swivel gun!

Steve,
I have an Ithaca Deerslayer, designed to shoot slugs. But, I have never put a scope on it. I shoot Brenneke Slugs. They are tremendously accurate. I have used them for over 30 years. When they hit a dear they go down. I got into using slugs when living in the Olympia area of Washington (the state). They have many areas to hunt that high powered rifles aren't allowed so I got a Model 37 Ithaca Deerslayer shotgun. I also have a regular full choke barrel, so I can go pheasant and duck hunting.
Does your shotgun have a rifled barrel?

No rifled barrel. I have used the Brenneke and agree with you on accuracy. I believe they were the Rottwiel rifled slugs if I'm correct. I need to use up some Winchester and Federal slugs now. It's hard to get rid of them when you're selective on what you take though. The plan this year is to use the 303 Savage.

Two years ago, NYSDEC opened shotgun territory to rifle, making most of NYS, both rifle and shotgun. There are areas around here, as you have there, that make it almost impossible to use a rifle, due to the amount of wooded area.

Had a 4 point and a 6 point buck sparring in the field across from me last night.

revwardoc and other Shotgun people.

My dad also had a 4 barrel 12 gage. The Barrels swiveled. You cocked the hammers, Fired the two shells. Cocked the hammers and turned the barrels counter clockwise until the bottom barrels were on top. and you pulled the triggers again. The thing was a tank and could only fire the 2 1/2 inch low brass shells. But what a conversation peace.
