I just spoke with Vances Wife
He is in Intensive Care and they are waking him up, The nurse is going to let them in to see him in just a few minutes. The Brain tumor was cancerous but they won't know to what degree untill the pathology work is completed on Monday. That is all I can tell untill tomorrow when the family gets to talk with the doctor.

Robert and I
Robert lost his wife to brain cancer, and I lost my brother last year to brain cancer. Brain Cancer is usually agressive and the treatments limited and the prognosis are usually very poor. I hate brain cancer!

I Spoke With Vance this evening
Just got off the phone with him, it only took two screaming fits, 3 nurses and a phone patch thru god but I did get to talk for a minute. He is pretty tired but seemed responsive and spoke clearly, Maybe the sugery helped. They will let him out of the coop probably on Tuesday. He will know more about the cancer and treatment program on monday.

My old hoochmate on our Infantry Course died several years ago, even after surgery dealt with the tumour in his brain - the cancer came back a year or two later and took him.
May God Bless Vance and his family, and may he have as complete and as gentle a recovery as possible.

The Major Problem with Brain Cancer Is:
You cannot do radical surgery and radical radiation on the brain. If you do you kill the patient. In many other areas of the body you can do very radical surgery to "make sure they get it all." That's why brain cancer almost always comes back and with a vengance. Anyway that's what the doctors told our family with my brother.
