We didn't use the peach can. We used the can that the dry stuff came in, ie: the cocoa, cheese can and crackers. Same effect, it made the ammo feed better and cut down on jams. I always wondered why the Army didn't engineer a decent feed ramp for that. I suppose it's because the mentality of the developers was that there had to be an assistant gunner feeding the ammo so they didn't need it.

Our M-60 team consisted of a gunner, assistant gunner and an ammo bearer, although everyone in the squad carried two belts of ammo. We still used the can for you never knew if the gunner would be separated from the rest of the team, or worse case the assistant gunner was KIA, and or ammo bearer and he would be on his own.
