If Douglas McArthur received a MOH then SGT Peralta certainly does. Talk about campaigning for a MOH, that was McArthur and because of importunity he finally got it.

These political idiots are complete numbnuts! It chaps my @$$! I don't effin care if he got hit by a friendly stick during combat in house to house searches. He was able to grab and cover a live grenade with his own body (the ultimate sacrifice and no less) and he died as a result of the blast! Nothing else matters. He deserves the MOH!

The way I see things, and except for that: "...there was some contradictory evidence",...
it's a-no-brainer. If saving comrades by covering a grenade with your body doesn't qualify
for an MOH,...just what-in-the-hell-does?

Still, there's the other side of the coin and/or just what is that: "Some contrary evidence"?
Could it be that such a scenario actually never happened, and that a sad & accidental
Purple Heart situation got embellished to make all concerned look better (victim inclusive)?

Hey,...just questioning some possibility? Besides, all know that The Military, just like
another life & death entity often: "Works in mysterious ways".
