Veterans Day
Veterans Day - How do you define it? It's not really a Happy Day it' s
more than that - in fact just saying Happy with Memorial Day seems improper. - As I recall my service days they weren't really happy ones but rather it was an honor to serve - for our country when needed. Meaning I vountered - not drafted. Many of us guys in the neighborhood signed up [while on TV flower power and drug parties & Peace signs were happening]. - It's not a Happy Day ever - our men & women are buried all over this world in Military graves in lands far from home. I wouldn't call that happy days. - Those were deadly tragic days where Men & Women who've served - were at times killed or captured and often times torchered. - Don't say Happy Veterans Day to Vet's - just say Thanks for Your Service to our Country. That's all. We Vet's know it's our time to reflect on those Bud's we all lost - or were severly injured. - Put your Flag up on this Day. Reflect on what you have -and the life you are living with your kids and grandkids. - Many Veteran's that were killed - or severly injured - never got that opportunity to have a family. The Parents of those servicemen and women who never got to see them get married or have grand-children. - Memorial Day must mean more than barbacues - or a day off. It's the loss of life given by so many - that deserves the respect of all freedom loving people. Freedom isn't always free and at times - we forget that - and those draft doggers have to live with that - as well - (Trump is one of many) - knowing they may be killed or injured - or just possibly - maybe they could've made a difference had they particapated in one way or another. - Put out your flag - have a barbacue - but - in your mind just reflect on your position in life - and what you've accomplished - that our fallen soldier's have given to you. - [John F. Kennedy said; "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words - but to live by them." - JFK] - Boats (VN/63-75) RIP Brother's & Sister's - till we meet once again.
