In setting up the TMF, (Tamaroa Maritime Foundation) we are going through some discussions right now. As a NFP, we can GIVE AWAY as a token of appreciation items that may be associated with certain categories ie a hat for 25 bucks, a pen for 50 bucks, etc. If we do it that we we will not be required to collect sales tax. However, if we offer an item for sale we complicate things and have to collect sales tax. I gave the board all kinds of ideas. They will meet in the next couple of weeks and we will decide where to go from there. As we suffer through our growing pains, I will be happy to pass on anything we learn to you all.
