![]() Screw all of this (so-called) astonishment about the ongoing rape of America by the oil industry and other (inter-connected) snakes in the grass, domestic and foreign alike (opinion)! ?Wake Up America and smell the foul odor of decay that is blowing upon the (so-called) winds of change!!? While looking through some of my aged newspaper tear sheets of times long past, I came upon several of my old (published) articles from newspapers that I had the honor to write for. As such, I have taken the liberty of reprinting a few of my words from the past, in an effort to show that some things never really change, and that the handwriting (this time on the fuel situation), was on the decaying walls years ago. And for the record, at the time that I wrote the piece below, yet another Bush was perched in the catbird seat! Yes Indeed, some things never seem to change, or they just get worse!? Or could it be that certain political factions (and a dynastic-bent family or two), have been probing our minds and defenses for gas-pump weaknesses for years (over 14 years to be exact)? ?This they have done (in my opinion) to determine our thin point$ and vulnerabilitie$, even a way back then!? Well boys and girls, this game plan has now been honed down to a fine economic art, especially here in California, the place where most foreign imports first pollute the American dream! Gasoline prices are the highest in the nation here - one of the reasons why Bush can not carry this State, even with his alter-ego (the Terminator) pulling-off his bogus imitation of the magnificent one, here on the Shaky-Side! And no, this is not a partisan, political, election year shot in the ass of any political power that is - there is plenty of heat to go around (twice)!! It is rather a growing lament and a reflection upon our rapidly fading life style - a way of life and social equality that is fast being bled to death by domestic traitors (opinion), foreign masters, international greed, and a few government prima donnas, who seek internationalism at any cost (Our Cost)!!!! It is also a matter of the potentially fatal damage being inflicted upon our fellow Americans, and those yet to be born, by individuals and cliques that slither about in self-generated filth and a vested muck of contempt for even their own people! And this is a "Crud-Ridden, Me-ist Agenda" that is fast destroying our sovereignty, our freedoms, our ethics, our lives, our foundations, and our futures (another opinion)! Again, and straight to the point, I am now (and always have been) an Independent bastard!. Not a Perot-ite Independent, but rather a ?Maverick-Unaffiliated Independent!? A man who, like many of you, still does his own thinking and marches to the drums of our Founding Fathers! And this many of us do, regardless of what it has cost us, and for the record, it has (and continues to) cost us dearly! (ABOVE ALL, TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE, SO TO SPEAK!!) ?Well, enough of this obvious prattle!? Getting to the point of this particular diatribe, the following is a copy of one of my old articles that was published in a 112 year old San Diego County newspaper, more than 14 years ago, during the Administration of the current President?s father. ?IT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, BOTH IN CONTENT, ECHOES OF THE PAST, AND AGENDA - AND OF COURSE, THESE ARE BUT MY PERSONAL OPINIONS!!? VERITAS ![]() ---------------------------------------------------- Daily Californian - Wednesday - August 15, 1990 ?HOW LONG WILL WE BE GOUGED AT THE PUMPS? All of the oil pirates are not limited to the Persian Gulf as is evident by the sharp and instantaneous increases in gas prices over the past few days. The last time that the Arabs turned off the tap on the oil, prices soared almost before the ink on the OPEC agreement was dry. If an increase was in order, it shouldn?t have gone into effect until the actual shipments of crude bearing the higher tag arrived on our shores. The price then, as now, was raised immediately and carte blanche. It was all-inclusive and not limited to future shipments. Oil bought at far lower prices also was targeted for higher profit. In effect, what was happening was that our own home-grown oil pirates were not about to miss out on the opportunity to stick it to their fellow Americans, while blaming it totally on the Arabs. How much, and how many times, do we have to be shafted at the pumps before we catch on and react to this international attempt to legally rob us blind? During the Exxon Valdez spill, prices soared again, not because of anything that we did, but rather through the greed of certain powers-that-be within our own domestic oil cartel. So now we are being faced with yet another oil crisis. This one is supposedly because of Iraq?s invasion of Kuwait. With the cutoff of oil from that section of the world, a new crisis is being foisted on the American consumer. No actual shortage yet exists, but you couldn?t prove that from the dramatic price changes over the last couple of days at your friendly neighborhood petrol emporium. If, in fact, we rely so heavily on imported oil and any change in the volume of that oil is going to be felt this dramatically, then doesn?t it make sense that we start to utilize our own virtually untapped oil reserves? But, then, that makes too much sense and our oil tycoons don?t deal in sense, just dollars. ![]()
