Home again
Been gone for more than a week. Our son and his wife moved from a 13th floor condo in the Bronx to the in-laws house, a 10 room, one story home in Palm Coast Florida. The professional movers took the furniture and big appliances but we had a van and an SUV packed so tight you couldn?t see the rear windows from the drivers seat.
The in-laws have a 16x20 foot pool on their lanai along with a hot tub. That part of the trip was fairly easy. One difficult part was the in-laws have a wet bar, next to their pool table. The bar has about $2,500 worth of booze, wine and beer. Very hard to say, ?No thank you?, but I did. We traveled through a time warp. As I was slowing down to get of I-95 in North Caroline we were passed by two 1968 Mustangs. Then walked into a store called JR?s were a carton of Marlboro?s was less than $22.00 per carton, Then filled the tank with gas that was $2.05 a gallon. We may move there after my wife retires. Note to all: Unless it?s 3AM you can never get across the Varrazano Bridge in New York City without a two hour delay. Then you get to pay the home of the G.D. Yankees six buck for the privilege of getting out of that damn city. Stay healthy, nice to be home, Andy |
