![]() ![]() I am angry today, and very upset because: > Some brutal enemy raped Private Lynch. > The Army would actually CONSIDER an 8-year imprisonment and denial of retirement to a 20-year combat officer doing his job in Iraq. > Unpresidential Hopelesses are aiding and abetting the enemy by failing to stand beside our commander-in-chief in his hour of need. > Congress made it a law for them to get their regular salary increases, and will NOT fully fund and expand VA entitlements. > Our fighters may not have enough kevlar vests and ballistics blankets for their vehicles yet. > Injured troopers are being housed stateside in unacceptable conditions. Prob'ly somethin' else I left out too... ![]() |

![]() Yup Mel - guess they figure they need to make "an example" of a loyal decent officer who defended his men... no certainty of what the Article 32 proceedings will, in the end, result in... but they could throw the book at him, and for damn sure will be unlikely to let him off easy... reminds me of the film 'A FEW GOOD MEN"...
If the story as we are hearing it is anywhere close to true, then I am truly pissed off. Former Congressman Barr got on the tube last night in his high and mighty self, and said it did NOT matter how many of our guys the officer saved by his interrogation technique (which was not all that horrible!)... screw Barr and the self-righteous sway-back roman-nose two-legged nag he rode in on. Thanks for caring... |

![]() It appears that political correctness has permeated the Rules of Engagement. Let me hasten to add that I'm a firm adherent to the UCMJ, and that I don't know the Rules as promulgated in that theatre, but it seems extremely odd that this incident has warranted more than a verbal reprimand, if that.

![]() Was interigating a prisoner, He discharged his side arm into a weapon clearing station by the prisoners head. the prisoner then started to talk, The prisoner was never injured in anyway. The information obtained was used to foil a ambush on a patrol convoy.
Im not much for torchering prisoners, ask him once, if he dosen't answer shot him right between the eyes. The end. Ron |

![]() This was placed on the Marine website that I am at....
You still have a voice........ SF Roger Sign a citizen petition on behalf of Lt. Col. Allen B. West, U.S. Army, who was indicted last week on criminal assault charges for the psychological intimidation tactic he used to acquire vital intelligence from a captured enemy combatant in Iraq --intelligence that saved the lives of American soldiers facing imminent attack. "[The enemy detainee] and his accomplices were a threat to our soldiers and the method was not right, but why should I...be forced into prison for protecting my men?," Col. West asks. Patriot Petitions poses the same question: How can we expect our frontline officers to fight wars the Bush administration calls "preemptive" if they are not given the latitude to respond -- preemptively --to the asymmetric threats of terrorist aggressors? Would the deaths of American soldiers in the ambush Col. West thwarted at Saba al Boor have constituted a more acceptable result for the Army's judge advocate? Please sign the petition to exonerate Col. West from this grossly misguided criminal prosecution. Go to: http://patriotpetitions.us/petition.asp?id=8
