Super Carriers, saving a small part....
Hello Shipmates, I'm looking for "Super Carrier" guys! I was on the Independnce CV-62. Any one here from CV's 59, 61, 63, 64, 66?
Reason is there is a good chance of a super carrier museum being installed on the USS Saratoga CV-60. She looks like the only one of the Super Carriers that has a fighting chance of being saved and turned into a floating Museum.
I am starting up an effort to get effects saved from the Indy for the chance of them making to and on the Sara. I've been in touch with both the Sara Foundation and the Indy Assoc. All I've contacted think it's a good idea.
Of course at this point there is a lot to be worked out. I have no real clue if this idea will even make it past the wish stage.
Let me know if your a flat top guy and want to bounce some ideas, thoughts and suggestions around.
Thanks, the Sparrow Hawk, Indy crew of 80-83, USN 70-87
