![]() The U.S. Army celebrated a distinguished officer's 34 years of service to the nation during the retirement ceremony for Gen. Stanley J. McChrystal on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Friday. "Gen. McChrystal has made lasting contributions to our Army and our country," said Gen. George W. Casey Jr., Army Chief of Staff. McChrystal was lauded as a true warrior, scholar and statesman and an expert at irregular warfare, hybrid warfare, counter-insurgency and counterterrorism. Mrs. Annie McChrystal, his wife, was singled out for her dedication and volunteer work with Soldiers, families and especially wounded warriors.
