Dale Fatchet of Brackenridge was shot twice and wounded by a hand grenade while serving in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.Although one of the bullets pierced a knee, it wasn’t until he retired in 2008 from the Postal Service that he had knee replacement surgery. Prior to the operation, he had received full disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
