I think there is a fine line here between desertion and having your ass kicked because you're outnumbered by gunweilding looters. There's more to the story than what was printed obviously. No appeal!? What kind of B.S. is that?!

According to the article, they lost their right to appeal since it wasn't exercised within the 14 day period, as specified in their contract. I say "good riddance" to them. If an employee can't find a phone witin 14 days to call in sick, lame, lazy or my mother-in-law's pregnant, the they have to right to a job.
