Tribute To Tyrants!

Have you ever noticed how the (numerous) atrocities of former (?) enemies quickly slip from our memories? How we (or rather our government), almost immediately after a conflict, embrace nations who once attempted to lay us low!

Hell, this has been going on ever since the ?First American Revolution?, and for better than two centuries, the nations who have spilled countless gallons of American blood, or attempted to rob us blind, have inevitably emerged the economic victor! The ?Mouse That Roared?, a movie that stared the late Peter Sellers, although a spoof (maybe), aptly displayed the mind-set of the world as concerns ?We The Suckers!?

"Paying Tribute to Tyrants" has always been a mainstay of world history! The United States, however, has long claimed to disdain the practice! This was evident as far back as the early Nineteenth Century, when men like Stephen Decatur tied the can to the tails of the Barbary Pirates - another group of international thugs who (like the current-day United Nations etc.), demanded tribute from (perceived) weaker entities!

Even the Romans of yore, gained vast wealth and affluence by bleeding their victims (real and potential) dry - a practice now being attempted (and accomplished in some cases) by other festering sewer-pipes like North Korea, and various other "Ignorant Enclaves of World-Wide Depravity!" (opinion)

Speaking of North Korea and other (like-thinking) despotic nations, whom we have supported in one way or another over the years, why do the people of our great nation allow our government to bend over to these ?Excremental Enclaves of Depravity?? I mean, if we are not paying economic tribute to half the world, there are some, even in our elected government, who are ripping us off daily, as was evident by recent news releases. And these ?Divided Allegiances Artists? are usually allowed to bow out gracefully when caught, pensions and what is left of their reputations intact! ?Now let you or I try that, and all that we will garner is a quick trip to the slammer!?

?The malignant nations that we best in conflict - we support infinitum, and the nations whom we have not defeated soundly, are usually pushed to the back of our minds like nothing ever happened!?

So whom do we have to blame for this political horse crap? Not our military, for even though a scant few of our military leaders have been more politician than trooper, our gallant kids in the field are the best there ever was! And as far as their equipment, with a few notable exceptions, the gear issued to our fighting forces has also been A-1, even though grossly over-priced more often than not!

It is the politicians and the people themselves, who must often shoulder the ultimate blame for the world?s opinion of us, as we have allowed ourselves to be literally taken over from within (opinion)!

Hostile nations, who once lay bleeding at our feet, have arisen anew to lay claim to vast portions of our economy and our turf! We have almost ceased to be an economic powerhouse, and have instead, become the policemen and grab-bag to the world!

We have also ceased to be the architects of our own destiny and economy, as anyone who has stopped for a moment along Interstate 8, 10 and 40 can attest to! Container load after container load of foreign manufactured junk is flooding our nation, each and ever second or each and every day, and I am sure that the same is true in the east!

The problem, at least as I see it, is that no one seems to give a damned any more? Like an army of lemmings, we gleefully march to the sea and our ultimate doom, sometimes led by treacherous Pied Pipers of deceit. Power-hungry men (and women too), who are more internationalists than patriot, and more driven by money and control, than by dignity and fair play! And no one is immune (or so it seems) from the diseases of betrayal and greed, as even many a prominent politico, past and even as we speak, are being defrocked for their shady dealings!

?But again, not to worry, because we sheep will always remain sheep. And this axiom of political knowledge, is what has kept a few blatant cretins in power in the past!!?

?And so has fallen nearly every major power of bygone times - good, bad or indifferent!!?
