Reverse Discrimination?

Normally, I am not one to take shots, but after weeks of being ragged-on by my better half, I decided to let her call to set up an appointment for a flu shot!

Being, what is considered to be ?High Risk? (Acute-Hypertension, degenerative arthritis, total intolerance to stress , bi-polar disorder, etc, etc), like many of you other patriots out there, and pushing the high side of 64, I was ready to opt for a little preventative medicine!

To make a long story short, and being a long way from the big city, I have been treated by a local Indian Clinic for many years. And for the record, the same high prices are paid by my insurance carrier (If Not Higher) than for the same medical care and drugs given to the Indian Community at that very same facility! The only difference, as I see it, is that the huge and profitable Indian Casinos also pump financial resource$ into the Native American population that are not available to non-Indians!?

Well, to make a long story short, my wife was informed by this tax-supported clinic, paid for by the taxes extracted from the entire community and not just the Indian sector, that these preventative flu shots at this clinic will be given in this order, and this order only -

1 - Indian Elderly get first crack..
2 - Chronically Ill Indians get the medication second, and then
3 - If any of the vaccine is left, the regular non-Indian patients are contacted..

After years of defending the rights of Indians and other races to get equal treatment under the law, could it be that the pendulum of ?Reverse Discrimination? has swung all the way past center, and smashed the skulls of non-Indian peoples?

** Hey, and if that were not bad and sad enough, a local area Republican supervisor, and our great/local CBS affiliate, just announced that many in our area of Southern California, a State not reported to favor President Bush for re-election, may have received improper ballots for the upcoming elections? Does this mean that the votes of the national minority party may not be valid in the Golden State, and may go uncounted? ?KIND OF SOUNDS LIKE FLORIDA, CIRCA 2000, DON?T IT!??

To make matters even worse (or better), depending on who you plan to vote for, and if I heard correctly, reference was also made by a Republican politico from the area to - ?TRYING? to correct the problem in time for the voting date! That key word ?TRY?, however, reeks of echoes of Florida- 2000! And I would bitch just as loudly (being an Independent), if the same stinking error (if that is what it was?), had occurred in favor of the Democrats and not the Republicans, especially in a State that is currently projected to hand over it?s electoral votes to Kerry and not Bush! ?Gee, I wonder what Arnold thinks of this??

If this is the neo-train of thought, then I ask you, why waste in excess of $200,000,000 to run for an office that pays but a fraction of that amount? Patriotism maybe, ego per chance, dedication perhaps, or is it to pay back massive favor$ - more than likely!!

The blood being offered up by our gallant service members, those not restricted to Texas duty, demands that this never be allowed to happen again!!
