I too, revere our flag, taking a solemn oath and vow to do whatever it takes to stop some assh*le from burning it. The point that the older veterans were trying to make is valid: it is a distress call for all to see, for patriots to rally around, for a country to be saved from the wretched excesses of those in power. What we are witness to may be a much larger and more dangerous threat than any group of sheetheads flying 767's into tall buildings.
American deserves better leadership than it is saddled with at the moment.
