I dont remember the exact number but I believe 9 died and 11 survived. I know the pilot lived because i remember him attending one of the funerals with a broken leg. All who perished were Marines, and I believe one Navy Corpsman, cant remember is the corpsman lived or not though. Semper Fi ...
Submitted by: DAVII at 5/9/2005 138 AM This crash on on the USNS Pecos with Military Sealift Command, a part of the Dept of the Navy. Its a refueling ship. It happened in the late 90s, not sure of the date, They were conducting training for the seals to board ships at sea. The pilot came in too fast and lost control. They got most of the guys in the helo out but did lose a couple. By the way excelent web site... ...
