Description:
(USAF) Col. Ralph Dresser volunteered to go to Vietnam as the commander in the Ranch Hand Defoliation Squadron. He was going to fly C-123 cargo planes. Colonel Dresser left for Vietnam in November of 1965 and returned to the United States November 1966. In 1968 he volunteered to go back to Vietnam with an A-37 squadron as an operations officer and he also served as an advisor to a Vietnamese fighter wing in Vinh Tau. In 1972 Colonel Dresser took a maintenance team to Iran to dismantle F-5s and took them to give to the Vietnamese. Col. Ralph Dresser retired from the Air Force in 1982.
