About 1/2 way up the hill on the 19th C&D companies were cut in half by NVA, The lead company was taking fire from all directions. NVA came all night long. The whistles were weird. At night if you fired your weapon you would receive a bunch of return fire. So when you did fire you also moved from wear you were. we were there to prevent a flank and support the 2 platoons of A company. It turned out that Flank prevention was not necessary. They were all around . Nov 19th was hell, nov 20 was purgatory, at hells door.
