Vietnam rejects Washington's report on human rights
(EXCERPT) Vietnam has rejected as inaccurate a human rights report
from Washington that accuses the Southeast Asian country of
repression.
Hanoi says it's regrettable that the US State Department's report,
while acknowledging positive changes in Vietnam, continues to give
partial observations that fail to reflect the real situation.
The Foreign Ministry says the US assessment does not conform with the
current positive Vietnam-US relations.
The annual American report on human rights says Vietnam's record
remains poor.
