Now Hear This!
Below is a poignant statement that could be attributed to many sources today, especially considering the current state of world affairs and the outspoken opinionating heard within the media, the voice of many citizens, patriots upon this and other sites, and even some within the military itself!
Read it through without looking at the author?s name at the end, and see if you can guess who uttered the following words?!
?The powers in charge, keep us in a perpetual state of fear, and keep us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor with the cry of grave national emergency!?
?Always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant sums demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, and seem never to have been quite real!?
Quoted by - General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964)
For the record, Douglas MacArthur was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1942, while his father (Arthur MacArthur) was also awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Missionary Ridge in the Civil War.
Douglas MacArthur himself was awarded, not only the Medal of Honor, but also was wounded three times, decorated 13 times, and cited for bravery in action 7 times!

And while we are on a roll, Douglas MacArthur also said:
"One cannot wage war under present conditions without the support of public opinion, which is tremendously molded by the press and other forms of propaganda."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another quip that tickled my fancy (author unknown) was:
?Everyone makes mistakes, its what you do afterwards that counts!?
Apparently, not everyone in power is aware of this axiom!?
