Cool VE Day Ceremony

Press Release

The SouthWest Washington Veterans Memorial Museum, will have a VE Day (Victory in Europe) Ceremony on Thursday, May 8 (the 58th anniversary of VE Day). The Ceremony will be from 6-8PM. It will be held at the Auditorium on the Vancouver Barracks site.

Royce Pollard, Mayor of the City of Vancouver, and Craig Pridmore, Clark County Commisioner, will speak at the Ceremony. The Military Vehicle Collectors Club of Oregon, will have vehicles on display.

The Museum would be pleased if anyone would like to bring anything to display and give some history of their display for the public to view. Anybody, veterans and non-veterans, that lived during this time period, is welcome to sign-up at the Ceremony, to be interviewed at a later date as to their experiences. The Museum will be collecting these interviews for future generations to hear and see. No matter what country or "side" of the war you were on, we want your history, especially if you were stationed at the Vancouver Barracks.
