Utah Judge Polishes The Old Torpedo - In Trebble!

A small town Utah judge, engaging in the age-old practice of polygamy, is now battling for his professional life in court! It seems that this court honcho, figuring that four can live as cheaply as one, took unto himself three (3) wives.

Well, the courts (even in Utah) apparently look down on this practice of warming the sack with more than two bodies, and are threatening to unseat this over-amorous judge. The judge (through his own attorney), however, is insisting that his personal actions should not be a gage of his professional behavior?

As for me, I have but one question: ?When in the Hell does this guy find the time or the energy to serve as a judge?? :m:

Is he a Mormon? He should be under these circumstances but I don't know if they still allow more than one wife. I can't imagine more than one nor could I handle three! Yipes - did one of his wives turn him in for some reason?

The Judge Belongs to . . . .

The Judge belongs to a sect of the Mormon Church which still practises polygamy. The town in which he lives is a town which polygamy is practised. This is an attempt of the legal beagles in Utah to enforce state law and the practise of the main line Mormon Church of having only one wife. Utah practised polygamy until statehood. One of the requirements for statehood was having state laws against polygamy and promoting monogamy.

In this day in age of anything goes: At least these Mormons are upfront about their practise. However, the point being is: How can you be a judge that enforces the law and makes judgments when you yourself are blantantly breaking the law.

He should be removed.

ya got a point there.....Married to multiple women could be detramental to your health. So marry one and tell the others you plan on marrying them. Now no laws are broken

Bob ya mean no laws are broken - but that don't mean that your number one won't break any - on your entire person should she discover your extra curricular activities.

The state of Utah has played winky-winky about the issue of polygamy for decades, knowing full well that certain offshoots of Mormonism still practice it. The pre-statehood attitude was "we'll just tell them that we have outlawed it so we canget into the Union." If the authorities had been really serious, it would have been wiped out by now, but it continues with many law enforcement folks looking the other way. Only time they get involved, and it is happening more frequently, is when they suspect child abuse or child rape.

This is yet another example of people taking selected passages out of the Bible and constructing their lives around it.
