What is the difference between a front channel message and a back channel message

Nothin really

Back channels are suposed to be more secur, but there not, unless incriped.

We used to have channels we would go to just to BS, No call signs, or unit IDs.

from memory

I posed the question from memory. As I understand it, they both are messages passed by major commands. A front channel message would follow the chain of command, i.e. MACV to the JCS through CINCPAC and on up, etc. A back channel message goes directly to the addressee, bypassing the chain of command.

I've been known to be wrong :D

Talked to a bunch of people on the PRC25 , Never taked to MACV or CINCONPOOP, Our radio comunications were most always direct to the person you wanted to talk to. Sometimes we had to use a relay.

Sit-Rep Negative, break squelch twice, Click, Click
