Favorite home defense weapon

What is your favorite home defense weapon ? I keep a sawed down 20 ga. Remington auto, 5 shots of #2 shot , by the bed . Figure it will clear most rooms and hallways.

38 is all I have got rid of the big stuff years ago. Would like a side by side 410 sawed off again that was real nice.

My weapon

A cast iron frying pan.

Anyone wanna argue with that?? :l:

These days it is a Ruger P89 semi auto 9mm 10 shot pistol and that?s all. While the kiddos were growing up and in the house I kept all that kind of thing locked away and kept a baseball bat near at hand. A baseball bat is almost as good as a cast iron skillet for close in work, has a bit more range and reach but does not have the same quick cycle rate. So it's trade-off I rekon.

My favorite isssss

The first one I get my hands on. Have at least one gun in every room of the house, including baths and basement. In bedroom I have two shotguns and a 9MM. Shotgun #1 is a double barrel 12ga coach gun with double hammers and triggers, #2 is a Remmington 870 12ga. both loaded with 00. Others range from 22, 22mag, 38, 357, 40, 44, 44mag.

first...

...is the night vision monocular,... lights up EVERYTHING,...( come to me baby), If I can't see it, I don't shoot it...

...prefer it, versus turning on a light, and equaling out the situation,...

... one hand for seeing, one hand for shooting :d: ...

...Oh yea, lots of "stuff", and lots more to go inside them, ...

... I like to "experiment once in a while with the shotgun loads, I like those little twisted shavings that come off the lathe,... they have good weight for being small, pack in well, and tear, and turn when going through the various " targets" at a greater spread pattern, but you only use them in a older gun as they tear up the barrels bad...

...used to put just about anything in the old shells that we could find, my friend took "washers" thinking they would stay "uniform in pattern" leaving the barrel, wrong, that single shot Harris and Richardson exploded, and blew up the gun in our "homemade rifle stand", and yes we had 50' of string to the trigger, and were behind the tree on our really wid experiments........

...he had a hard time explaning that one to his dad...............

Have a 1911 in the bedside table.

And a Remington 12 Ga. with OO Buckshot in the corner. (No kids in the house). All my high value stuff is in a Liberty Safe.

I don't keep nothin out anymore except two goldenretrievers who tell me when anything might be wrong and a baseball bat to back them up. after beingg ripped off for all my guns in a burgulrey in 1994 I now keep anything of value in my gunsafe and god help anyone who trys to get in our house because If the dogs don't get them I'll beat them with my bat. hurting them real bad sounds better to me now then just killing them.

Most courts

Are on A catch and release program, like fishing. I prefer Catch and bury. When I met my wife she had a Louisville Slugger in her bedroom and a cat on the pillow, said she figured she would throw the cat at them and follow with the bat. Can you imagine a pissed off cat coming Through the air at 3 in the morning??

1911 in the desk drawer and a Remington 870 with a 20" barrel next to the bed.
