Saying hello
 

Hello Patriot Files friends,

It's been a while since my last visit (about two and a half years), but wanted to stop in and say hey. I'm still working on my dissertation, but last year was a bit of a struggle on that front, as I lost my grandmother and another dear friend (almost like a grandfather to me), which took a lot of my energy. I'm doing okay though and keep pushing to reach my goal of finishing the doctorate.

I did have the distinct joy last year to teach at Grand Forks Air Force Base for active-duty students, which was a lot of fun for me. I am also teaching online, which is interesting. I will have a chapter out on Native American warfare for a book on the Little Bighorn Campaign coming out in November and plan to write a chapter on Civil War sources for another book later this year.

I'm hoping to hear back on a job opportunity at the University of North Dakota, where I work part-time, for a full-time job in the Registrar's Office and have applications out for museum jobs in Illinois as well, so I'm hoping something will come of it. It's hard to believe that in August I will have been a member here for 10 years.

In fact, it's nice hearing from any old patriotfiles.com friend lately.
Not sure why most all veterans were so disloyally and herd-like led elsewhere?
