His Royal Nibs and aspiring Lord of the Manor Kerry (Tug on forelock) seems forget that the AK 47 is the most widely and most often used hunting/killing weapon in the world, bar none. But then, maybe human prey doesn?t count in his book eh. And then maybe his Royalty reckons that there is no reason for Moe Average, USA, to have a need to defend himself/family from foreign or domestic interlopers/terrorists that ARE armed with AK 47?s.
After all, he and the United States of Massachusetts are allegedly going to be around to protect us and we?re all going to be in good hands, right? And by jingo, do I feel good about that or what? So not to worry one bit me thinks.

As to privately owned weaponry, well, I see a line drawn somewhere between an M60 and an M2 50 cal. Or, on the other hand, maybe the line needs to be between a 105 mm tote and a 155mm howitzer. Decisions, decisions, somewhere it gets a bit much, but I just can?t put my finger on it just now. I?ll worry about all that line making another day, but not today.

Or, perhaps the line is rightly drawn somewhere between a .22 short and a .12g shotgun... I mean, HOW much pain does one want to inflict on a given opponent at how many yards.

Here's a thought, a crazy, and totally crazy thought...

Let us all who have firearms, private and publicly held decide on a day, any day will do... perhaps July 4th would be auspicious...

Then, on that day, at an agreed upon time (in accordance with time zone differentials), let us ALL go outdoors and fire a single round (or burst) from whatever is our firearm of choice (legal or not) straight up into the air and then rush indoors.

A good way to recycle lead if nobody forgets to rush indoors.

Bluehawk,

Some of my fellow members of the New England Patriots Militia did just that at the end of the Super Bowl. Nothin' like a couple of hundred grains of powder down the barrel to make a good bang, and lots of smoke.

But that's a good idea for the 4th. Just make sure you're firing blanks and not live rounds. What goes up, must come down!

How would you like to have this in your collection?

I would LOVE a Mule. Dangerous contraption, however. Maybe they should be banned. Maybe they have been banned. That's what the M-60 is for: to put you out of your misery when you wreck.

Don't wreck yet Doc. Got an SKS with scope and bi-pod . We are good to 100 yards

In the words of that eminent redneck, Bubba, who after consuming a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon got on his mule to drive, " Hey, watch this!"

DMZ-LT 02-04-2004 07:45 PM

Doc , hope to seee you , and Grunt , soon. Sid tells that story of you and he often . Thank you for saving my friend . Thank you for all you did. Peace.

Guys -

Is that thing GI? Or homespun?

revwardoc 02-05-2004 04:58 AM

Bill Farnie,

That's a nasty piece of ordinance. I'll be it'll get ya through rush hour traffic, no problem! Just put a warning burst into the trunk of the car in front of you and it'll be like Moses parting the Red Sea!
