Merry Christmas & Happy New Years

Another year goes by and less and less of those I knew are gone. My bes to you and your families and to those who are actively on duty taking care of those who can't take care of themselves. My prayers are such that I wish wars would end so that peace and properity could move forward.

Tough year this year my wife is degressing and her pain is constant. Each month I see her suffering more and more with little relief. Our kids are grown and our grand-kids are also grown it seems we see less of them than before. I still work to keep insurance to cover Kathleen's needs. I don't often loggin any more because I know I will get lousy feedback about how I've forgotten those who I used to exchange comments with. I've moved on to a more quite lifestyle - a little less rebelous but still have hopes that all will be fine sooner than later.

HC's wife had major brain surgury I keep in touch so I'm just lettiing you know she's on the mend and he's still as out spoken as he was on this site years ago. He's my friend and I respect him alot.

You guys take care I'll get back to you when the moment strikes me.

Boats,

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I would never think bad of you for not posting.

I cherish the conversations you and I have had in the past....especially about 18th century sailing.

I would love to continue those...anytime you want.

God bless you, my friend!

A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you too, plus all the many other once friendly, vocal and opinionated Veterans we both used to chit-chat, banter and discuss things with here on Patfiles, Boats.

Still, sorry hearing about your: "Tough year". Ours wasn't all that great, either.

Regardless, don't sweat it or concern yourself about no longer posting regularly here on the original patriotfiles.com forum anymore.

As you no doubt know, only a few of the old crowd of Honorable Veterans post here anymore. Something scared them off?

Whatever, the wife and I pray that both your and our New Year will be much better.

Best Wishes to all. I had an "interesting" year. In November 2012, I was laid off due to reduction in force. yeah right, I was the highest paid and the oldest on the staff. So they let me take as much as I could with an hours notice and shipped the rest home. I was mad for about a week or so. then went on unemployment. I got over it and now the family is jealous of me. I put in for Social Security and have about a year and a half left on my mortgage.I live in New York so I'm not sure we're going to stay here or not. We are pretty heavily taxed, but family is all around us and I like the area well enough to not consider uprooting us if I can avoid it. I just started working as a volunteer at the local historical society so I am keeping myself occupied and am doing some family history research as well.

So all in all not too bad! The Ironic thing is that my company gave me a 30 year watch (a Tag) in February and RIF's me in November. But I can't complain they gave me a nice severance package.

Looking forward to an interesting 2014!!

Bill
