Changing the VA system

For those that can remember that long ago, I suggested then that the VA system, along with the Veterans themselves and the American taxpayers, would all be better served if qualified Veterans were just given a MasterCard or some such method of payment, to be used whenever medical care, pharmaceutical care, or hospital care was need. Now, some in Congress are advocating the same thing, at least as a stop-gap measure, while all of the crap at the VA gets sorted out.
All I really see in this sad episode of this totally inept administration is yet another example of amateur hour. We have equally incompetent Secretaries of State, Defense, and now Veterans Affairs, appointed by the most inept occupant of the White House yet. I'm sure that gimpy is proud of Little Barry.

SuperScout,
I can remember exactly how it was back when discharged and receiving VA Service Connected Disability Care, starting in 1958.

First-off, I was able to pick or choose choose 1 from 3 civilian specialists in my area to go to every month, for my specific malady.

For any RXs prescribed and needed monthly or whenever, I merely went to my local pharmacy and got them.

For both instances only medical professionals were involved with my care.

NO BONU$ & $ALARY GREEDY BUREAUCRAT$ or Civilian Political Appointees denied any DAVs care (the current norm), WAY BACK THEN.

Neil
