Packo in the Hospital
Not sure what is going on yet but he has been having a temperature for a while and may have had a TIA. That is transient ischemic attack not temporary insufficiency of alcohol. He may get out today.
|
Thanks Fred.Sending angels his way.

Prayers out to the old Rebel
|
Prayers for Packy. Fred, could you break that down in laymen`s terms?
|
Prayers sent.
|
Sorry. TIA is a temprary lack of oxygen to a portion of the brain. The most common cause is hardening of the arteries. It is actually a good thing because it means you can do something about it before there is any permanent damage to the brain.

Like the roto-rooter,Doc?

Prayers out for Pack

Best wishes for sure from this neck of the woods.

Talked to Deb
They're still not sure what's wrong with Pack. He goes in and out of being normal. She said there are times she cant understand what he's saying....I told Deb that was normal on the mtn, but she assured me he hadn't been drinking.
Get well buddy. We have a few more trips to the mtn left in us |
pak-man - thinking about you
Just read this thread - hope things are on the mend. You know we all are getting mileage of late so things like this occur every now and then. Had mine in Sept. so far all is well and just left the VA this morning with a fairly clean bill of health. But did get three follow ups for some test they want to run on me. Take care old man - my best to you and your family over the holidays. The Boats

Keith You've been drinking French wine again, haven't you? :) |
Oh Keith I figger he was sippin hot toddies down at the red lobster. And can't remember his name again. they sell bad booze there it can affect your thinkin.
|
Just checked in from the frigid confines of Leavenworth, Kansas, doing a 'Warfighter' exercise again. Hey Packo - take more deep breathes, and get better ASAP!
|
Going in and out of being normal is a lack of oxygen to the brain. Could be diabetes. or clogged arteries, heart related, or lung related.
Pack, leave that O2 mask on and take those baby aspirin. Hope for diabetes. Get well Ron |
Hope that all is well. Take care.
|
Get well soon !!!
May God Bless, Larry |
I
just got back on line today and saw this.
Prayers are headin out for Mah Deah Southern Brother. I lost a lot of my contact info when my computor crashed a few days ago. If any of you guys have Packos' & Debs phone number please send me a PM. Gimp |
Packo's home
Again I was wrong on the diagnosis......With him acting silly and in coherent and not being on the mtn. The only other thing it could be was latent gonarear (sp) (clap), a carryover from Vietnam, which goes directly to the brain after sitting dormant all these years. Kinda like what killed Al Capone

Hey Y'all
Short and sweet as I am still recoverying from this nightmare. Deb and I were right when we thought I had a reaction to the Levaquin antibiotic. No one listened. simulated a stroke. Unreal and scary. ALL TESTS 100% FINE! So, on Friday they said I could leave as soon as they plug one more bag of LEVAQUIN in me. So...thought it must not be. Wrong, by 4 I was speaking in tounges again. Deb and Lori ran home and got on the computer....every friggn thing happening to me was a result of meds. Too tired to continue for now....body worn out....will talk at you soon.
I love all of y'all.......thanks everybody. Pack |
Packo,
Good to hear from you directly. Take care of yourself and keep us updated. |
Pack get rid of that stuff you don't need a hard on for 36 hours anyways. go back to the good stuff from canada. all you need is enough to quit peeing on your shoes. good luck buddy and get well soon. perscription drugs and old age can be a scary mess.
|
Packo
Hope you home now and feeling UP to things.
God Bless you. enough............. reeb.............. |
Glad you're back
Man oh man. The miracles of the deadly pharmaceuticals. Too many people have reactions these days to a lot of the crap they want to give us to "HEAL" us. Glad you haven't reacted permanently! Be Well.
Doc Urb |
And doctors get cranky when we turn down or just don't take their prescription drugs.
It now part of my medical history that I'm allergic to cholesterol medications. That way, they stop trying to give it to me. :D Take care all. We all need a happy holiday season. Joy |
Jeezz Packo, don’t know what to say besides rest up and be well. Count my blessings, my worst problem right now is that I need to be at 180 lbs and went over 205 at thanksgiving. Retirement is the culprit, so got to get cracking again. Going back to Asia soon enough and see if I can’t work it on out, way too high strung hang out and do nothing.
You behave now, ya hear, no point in getting extraordinarily goofy when we already earned all the goofy we’ll ever need. Scamp |
Sure glad you're out and better. I was about half convinced you were having motorcycle withdrawl symptoms or had possibly suffered a golf overdose. A drug you don't like? Whoda thunk it?
Sure hope somebody got video of you "speaking in tounges". Should be great entertainment at the next choir practice. |
Good news !!!
All the best, Larry |
Pack,...
Glad hearing that all worked out well for you.
Not all forced dealing with The White Coat Crowd end up so lucky. From own personal experience with prescription drugs pretty-much: "Pushed" by most; "Practicing" Physicians for perks, I've concluded that the very best thing to ever come down the Medical Pike FOR ME is called; "A Pill Cutter", if feel something not right. Most doctors I've run across seem to believe that regarding pills,..."One size fits all". Such just not so. Can't believe that A 5 Footer requires very same dope as A 7 Footer. Nor, are totally wrong meds ever good for anyone of any size, either. Besides staying lucky Pack,...stay vigilant. Even the very best doctor on earth can't honestly know how YOU FEEL. If "It" doesn't make you feel better and actually makes you feel worse,...just don't take "It". Neil |

Watch those Med's
Pak-ma-man - had a bought with Niacin in Sept. thought I was going to die. Weird reaction not allegery per the Doc in the Hospital. Just saw my VA Doc and they put me back on the stuff again but I have to take two 81mg asprin 30 min. prior to taking my 500mg Niacin tablet. Been on them again for about a week so far no reaction. But I can't go to sleep for an hour after I take this stuff just to make sure I wake up in the next day.
Pill's never took them until about 5 years ago now my sink is loaded with my drugs. Wife has about seven she takes and I'm going broke just filling all of them. VA takes care of me and I take care of her. What a way to live out your Golden Years poppiing pills morning and night. God Speed Packman - I'm thinking of you. |
Thanks Boats!
If you are 100% SC, your wife can get CHAMPVA for free which will cover almost 100% of all her meds. If your not.....GET THERE! Thanks so much for caring....all you sons o' bitches!

Better living through chemistry! Just think, if you lived 100 years ago with the same ailments, you'd've died young. Of course they did have leeches and bleeding, purgatives and diuretics, etc. In those days the cure was almost as bad as the ailment.
