Your description in your initial post was right on. You did say "humanitarian aid" didn't you? Wonder where all the do- gooders were hiding when sadam was doing his number on the people in Iraq????? Didn't hear a hue and cry out of them then!!

Regarding: "...where do-gooders hidding when...", can't say for sure. But, and in all likelihood, the political anti-war Hollywood and Beltway Crowds were just to busy making-up MORE lies and beating-up on Bush and The Bush Administration, to notice what The Butcher of Bagdad was doing, has been doing, and has done for many years.

As INTELLIGENT(?) & CARING(?) as such phonies always ACT (every way possible),...one would have thought them smart enough to know that "They" all were/are backing The Greatest Killer of Islamic People in World History and the most impotent organizations around (re. UN), while going against A Coalition of Countries (their very own America inclusive) wishing to finally liberate The Iraqi People. And, all such treasonable nonsense during warfare, just to achieve political oneupsmanship and thusly more liberal power and control.

Besides, don't the political dummies alluded to realize that amongst the many millions Sadam The Sadist has tortured to death and just plain executed or murdered,...that many of such poor souls were also no doubt like-minded fools and/or Liberals/Democrats? Hell,..."They" don't even have allegiance to their very own misguided soul mates? Go figure?

my thoughts parallel yours. But there is one thing that has perturbed me for about 12 or 13 years and that's the phrase "NEW WORLD ORDER". The FIRST time I ever heard that said openly by a politician, was either in '91 or 2, by none other than GB #1. And that is scary if as our leader (at that time) had and/or has that type of mind-set!!!!!! To me a person with that mind-set doesn't have the US of A's best interest in mind. I know I've never voted for anything that even sounded like that. And at this stage of my life, would use it against anyone, outside or inside who tried to install it here!!!!!

The very first time I heard the words: "New World Order" I cringed,...since, and even though far from an all-knowing politico or diplomat, I knew-damn-well such would turn at least half of the nations in The World against ANYONE spouting such an arrogant nonsense.

Also, don't you think that such a: "New World Order" nonsense is what people would have more so expected hearing from the old Soviet Union, Old Germany, Old Japan, or even New France? Certainly seems so to me.

And besides, don't both Democrats and Republicans here understand that MANY socialist states like France, dictatorships, monarchies, shiekdoms and mullahdoms out there would prefer REAL democratization and loss of power and control, as much as they would prefer a-hole-in-the-head?

Yeah sure,...all alluded to will gladly give over their power to The People, just because America thinks/insists such is the right thing to do, and just like The Saudis would happily return The Shiekdom of Jordan, which was taken from The Palestinians in 1947, back to The Palestinians. Believe The Saudis will return Palestine (now called Jordan) back to The Palestinians, and I'll sell you both DisneyLand and DisneyWorld (The Brooklyn Bridge to-boot).

Beside, I don't feel we've got that Liberty, Freedom and democracy thing quite right here in America yet. Sure it's great for the politicos and The Public Sector. But, and for the vast majority and/or Private Sector Taxpayers,...this democracy thing leaves a lot to be desired, especially if not A Minority or sick and destitute.
