Follow up: Mrs. HC - How are you and Rick doing!?

Mrs. HC - How are you and Rick doing!?
-
Kathleen isn't doing so well. And refuses to see a doctor or even going
to the hospital.
-
Not giving up - My Daughter's" called the paramedics to come to the
house and check her out. The paramedic showed up and the fire-department.
-
They said she refused going to the hospital - or being taken?
-
Why?! The reason they didn't take her is "because "she was cognit" she
and answered all their questions - so; she had her made up her own
mine - and therefore they can't take her - as long as she has made
up her mind!
-
Daughters won't give up they are bringing a Certified Hospice Nurse
Sunday to check her out - and she can even prescribe medications -
if need be. Medicare covered & a Certified Hospice Nurse for the
elderly. Let's see what she knows or recommends.
-
I also suspect she has a blood clot as her legs are turning color
and her skin is scaly - but without seeing a doctor its only my
guess?
-
I've tried everything to get her to the doctor or hospital. Of late
were finding out that very few doctors are doing house calls
anymore - of any at least here!

Maybe the Certified Hospice Nurse will be able to help her. She is in God's hand.

You guys take care.

Sorry to hear HC is struggling - did you talk to his doctor?

Brenda
-
a. Has HC changed his medications recently?

b. Is he double dosing any - that you don't know?

c. If a recent med was issued by his doctor did
he keep his regular dosage or did the Doc kick it up a notch?
-
d. Could he be having a side effect from one or more of his
meds - being taken? Maybe they need to be in the morning
or evening - (but not together) and/or as needed - or only
with food or as prescribed by his Doc!?

e. Do you remind him to take his meds or does he do it on his own?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We never know about some of these meds - some you can't take
everyday - while others - only as needed - but at what dose?
-
I'm sure you monitor his taking of his meds - but whatever is
prescribed can sometimes cause other issues - if taken too
close together. Or only with food?
-
How you holding up?
-
Make sure you get your rest and take care of yourself as well!
-
Sorry for bothering you - but I'm in a similar boat having
to restrict my meds. But lately I cut them all off and take
them only as needed.
-
Regards & My Best Wishes for Uou and HC

We see his doctor tomorrow and I give him his medication.

He is only allergic to one medication and he does not take it any more. He is fine with the medication he is taking now. I keep check on him daily.

Only take your medication as needed or as your doctor dictate. Buy a daily pill container and it will help you keep track of your medication. Take care of yourself.
