That's what he claimed and let people believe until he was pinned down
about it by a reporter several years ago. He then said that he didn't have time to go home and get his medals, so he threw someone else's. Medals like that are too valuable to keep in the less-secure Washington office. Medals like that can come in handy if one is trying to make some sort of political "statement". Like flinging them away...... |
