- Biography
- I was born and raised in California. Following graduation from high school I was sworn in to the Army at the armed forces induction center in Los Angeles at about 1600 hrs on July 3, 1967 and put on a bus to Fort Ord. I arrived there at about midnight. My first full day in the Army was the Fourth of July. After serving in Viet Nam I was sent home on terminal leave on October 13, 1969. My accrued leave time ran out on November 10, 1969, so my actual retirement date is November 11, 1969; Veterans Day. You might say that makes me a true blue nephew of my Uncle Sam.
I took the Special Forces test, passed and was accepted into Special Forces as an 18 year old private E-2. I retired from the Army as a 20 year old SGT E-5 and retired for good at the age of 54. You might say that I like to get a jump on things.
I lived most of my life in Washington where had been a city councilman, then I farmed alfalfa for 17 years and spent ten years as Watermaster of my irrigation district. - Occupation
